Hi, my name is Steve. I work for Simple Office Solutions here in Santa Rosa, California.
During my many service calls, I often get questions about why a machine will have a paper jam but there doesn’t seem to be any wrinkled paper. The reason for this is the machine uses sensors to detect a paper path, paper as it’s moving through the machine. So once it reaches sensor A, if it doesn’t reach sensor B within a certain amount of time, it thinks it has a jam which triggers the alarm on the machine and basically processing stops. The many reasons why this could happen, basically, rollers can get worn, paper could be wet or slick. If the rollers are worn the paper doesn’t pass through the next sensor and the machine thinks it has a jam. So you need to talk to your service representative and see what’s going on with the machine.
