Hi, this is Gerald. I work at Simple Office Solutions here in Santa Rosa, California. I’m the service manager and today we’re going to talk about removing lines from a Sharp color copier. Now, if you’ve already seen the previous videos that we’ve done, we’ve talked about removing lines from the slit glass here, but if you’ve already gone through that process, then we need to move on to the next step. So, if you open up the access door, this is typically where you’re going to replace the toner and also the waste toner device. The first thing we want to do is to remove the waste toner container, set that aside in a safe place, it gets kind of dirty. This will clean charge lines, so this is if you’re experiencing colored lines. So, if you’re experiencing yellow, of course, we want to go and slide it all the way to the back of the machine, and then back forward several times. Each different color will be represented by the copy quality that you’re having.

If you’re experiencing what we call void lines, or white lines, then, of course, you want to go and use this little q-tip device. Make sure the pad is facing down and you slide it all the way to the back of the machine a couple of times for each color. This will clean white lines on your copies. If after cleaning the laser units and you’re still experiencing copy quality issues, please call an authorized dealer to come out and service your machine. If you have any comments, please do so below. Thank you.
